Unable to retrieve license key with Order# and email

I received my TinyPilot, but out of the box, the web portal will not respond. We configured DNS for tinypilot.local per instructions, but it does not respond. The unit does pull a DHCP address and is ping-able.

The only troubleshooting step available is to reflash the micro-SD card, but now I am being blocked from downloading because the license retrieval site just hangs after entering our order# and email. I need assistance please.

Hi @bscott, I'm sorry you're running into issues accessing the TinyPilot web interface and reflashing the microSD card.

Thanks for those details confirming your TinyPilot is ping-able.

Can I confirm that you've tried accessing TinyPilot's web interface using its IP address (as well as the three URLs - https://tinypilot, https://tinypilot.local, and https://tinypilot.localdomain?

When you try accessing the web interface, can you tell me the message you're seeing?

the license retrieval site just hangs after entering our order# and email.

I haven't heard reports of this behavior before. Could you try again to check whether this was a temporary issue? If it still hangs, are there any error messages or anything happening on the page?

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Yes, I can confirm that even the IP address as URL did not reply. We do not allow dynamic DNS and only the https://tinypilot.local or https://[ip address] would be resolvable. No message was provided by the tinypilot device, the browser gives a host not responding error.

I tried again and was able to retrieve our license key.

                Thanks for the update @bscott!

Have you been able to download the TinyPilot image and perform a factory reset on your microSD card? If not, could you try a factory reset and see if that allows you to access the TinyPilot web interface?

Please let me know if you have any questions.
